YESL adopted a unique approach to help the students affected by the Tsunami. Its ideology was that all organizations, institutions and individuals concerned with the development of the children affected by the tsunami and in building a nation from out of the rubbles by involving the children, (as it is for them we plan to re-build), using the immense assistance and support from all over the world in a planned and coordinated way – should work with children.
YESL aimed to make children the masters of their destinies- by relieving them from the sorrow, trauma, stress and helplessness and put them in charge.

Bagya Fernando of Aura Company, Musaeus College, Colombo 07 produced a CD titled RISING FROM WAVES , composed by Bagya , Lyrics by M.W. Nalin Mohan who was a victim of the Tsunami.
