Citigroup Funding for YESL
The Citigroup through Citibank Sri Lanka has been continuing its funding for JA/YESL Programmes since year 2005. With a funding of US $ 25,000 for 2005/2006 and again with a US $ 25,000 for 2008/2009 Citibank have been a lasting partner for YESL.
The students numbering 1000 from North-Central and North-Western Provinces are the beneficiaries of this Project.
It serves students from various communities – Sinhala, Tamil, Christian and Muslim in urban and rural schools of the country focusing on middle and low income groups estimated gender participation ratio of 55% males and 45% females.
The main purpose of this project is to inspire and educate the young Children on Entrepreneurship and especially to develop the student skills to succeed in a global economy reducing their sense of insecurity in the current socio-economic conditions.
This project is an excellent partnership of Citibank to uplift the students’ lives making them work force ready.
